About the FCDO Diplomatic College

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Diplomatic College sits at the centre of one of the world’s most experienced diplomatic networks. Alongside its core mission of developing UK diplomats, the College has an additional aim to support the UK Government’s openness agenda, promoting mutual understanding between the UK Government and external actors.   

In establishing the Diplomatic College, we created a space where the UK’s unparalleled diplomatic expertise is put to work, developing the diplomatic leaders and ambassadors of tomorrow, whilst drawing in voices from across sectors. In doing so, we create the conditions for genuine exchange on the topics reshaping our world.​

The Global Network Programme sits at the heart of the Diplomatic College, testament to the belief that the many challenges facing the world can only be solved by bringing together diverse sets of actors to generate new insights and coalitions. Our programmes are built on two convictions: that openness and genuine partnership produce better thinking than any single sector or institution can achieve alone, and that the relationships formed through that process are as valuable as the ideas themselves.
